Early in his life, Tom discovered a deep passion for helping people unlock their personal and athletic potential. Through every sport he played – soccer, skating, baseball, and basketball – he soon became involved in coaching.
Paddle sports eventually became Tom’s primary sport focus and, after being selected for the Premier Men’s Canadian National Dragon Boat Team, he created a local paddling club to help other Vancouver Island athletes reach the highest levels of international competition. His work attracted athletes ranging from 17 to 75, and his coaching resume soon boasted World Champions and National Team athletes in multiple age categories.
Tom first discovered Crossfit through his own training as he looked for something to help him maximize his sport performance. He soon realized it was the ideal way for athletes of all ages to improve their functional fitness for sport or for life and, after finding a home with the Crossfit Zone family, began coaching Crossfit in 2017.
