Photo credit - Natural Strength CrossFit Well the 2014 Crossfit Games are now over, and like each year before it, the competition keeps getting harder and harder. This year saw a number of different elements thrown at the athletes which really tested their wide ranging abilities. We also saw this year that the competitors keep getting stronger and faster with some amazing performances by relative newcomers and Games veterans being challenged from all sides. This year was our own Lucas Parkers 4th trip to the games, a feat unto itself, where he and all the competitors were challenged by the twisted mind of Dave Castro. Lucas showed amazing strength and commitment throughout the competition, battling through some difficult workouts and a challenging first day. At the end of the competition, Lucas fought and held for a 34th place finish, amongst a very deep and talented pool of athletes and he represented Crossfit Zone and Canada West with a lot of pride and class. When you see him around the gym, make sure you give him a big high five and a big congratulations. It was a grueling test down in California and a tremendous amount of behind the scenes work just to get there. Great work Lucas! We are all really proud of you! Coaches Notes:
- As discussed above, listen to your body and scale the movement, weights or reps to allow your body to recover. If you need any help deciding what to do, ask your Coach or the Coach of the class.
- This is a long, lung burning type workout, so make sure that all the weights are on the lighter side.
- Have fun!
